DYK #21: Gradcommx

Are people nodding off in your presentations? Do eyes glaze over when you try to explain your research at a cocktail party or family event?

Gradcommx, an initiative sponsored by the Office of Graduate Education, believes that great research flourishes through communication that is clear, engaging, and illuminating. To this end, they are creating innovative educational materials to help you improve your communication skills. At gradx.mit.edu, richly imagined web comics illustrate important lessons in communication:

from using narratives to connect with your audience…

to being concise...

and pacing your talk when presenting challenging new concepts.
